About me

I began training as a musical instrument repairer in 1990, working for Trevor James & Co. on flute, clarinet and saxophone. In 1992, I began a long association with Ian Mclauchlan at the Just Flutes workshop, working on all woodwind instruments. Alongside this, I have worked for T. W. Howarth repairing and making professional oboes and clarinets.

I have a BA hons in music from Reading University and a postgraduate performance diploma and LRAM from the Royal Academy of Music. I continued to repair during the time I was studying, working with both Ian Mclauchlan and T.W. Howarth.

Since graduation, I have taught for both Brighton & Hove and West Sussex music, whilst continuing to repair woodwind instruments. I currently combine musical instrument repair with teaching. I live with my husband and 3 sons in Worthing. I play saxophone locally and enjoy craft, yoga and walking in the countryside.

I look forward to meeting you

Work undertaken

I undertake all work from minor problems to full overhauls of woodwind instruments. I can also do keywork, alterations and structural repairs such as re-tenons and repairing cracks.

The new Wessel flute

Since 2020, I have been working closely with Jonathan Myall of Just Flutes to continue the legacy of the Wessel flute and British flutemaking.
